Children needing adoption

Most children needing adoption will have been separated from their birth families at birth or in early childhood, many of these children will live with foster carers while plans are made for their future. As a result of this less than ideal start in life most of the children with an adoption plan will carry with them some degree of uncertainty about their future well being and needs.

We have children from across Yorkshire and Humber needing adoption; they may have siblings; they may have different ethnic backgrounds; they may have experienced significant harm as a result of a parent’s drug or alcohol misuse, domestic violence or mental health issues.

In short our children have a range of needs, personalities, abilities and vulnerabilities, and some have significant disabilities too, but all our children have one thing in common; they all have potential. They all need a permanent, stable loving home to enable them to make the most of life's opportunities . If this is something you feel you can provide and you meet some basic criteria we want to hear from you.

We believe in adoption, because every day we are reminded how powerful adoption can be for adults and children; we want all our children with a plan for adoption to have the opportunity to grow up in a family. If adoption is something you think you could consider then speak to us and come along to one our information events to find out more.

Please read our  Child Stories* for examples of some of the children we have been family finding for.
