Steps to adoption

Many of our adoptive parents tell us that adoption is the best thing they have ever done, as well as being challenging and totally life changing for them and their adopted children.  Adoption is a very important decision and together we can help you to find out if it is the right decision for you.

If you are interested in adopting the child you are fostering; if you want to adopt a partner’s child; or are interested in adopting a child from overseas we can provide you with some information or point you in the right direction. Just give us a call or speak to your existing social worker.

Here is an outline of the adoption process:

  • Attend information evening
  • Complete expression of interest form
  • Initial visit
  • Formal registration of interest
  • Stage one training and assessment
  • Stage two assessment
  • Adoption panel
  • Approval
  • Matching
  • Placement
  • Adoption Order

Your route to adoption with us will be personal to you, we will make sure you are listened to and supported at all times and will ensure that you always have all the information that you need  to enable you to take the next steps.

Matt and James wanted to adopt a very young child so Early Permanence Placement (EPP) seemed like the natural choice

Matt and James wanted to adopt a very young child so Early Permanence Placement (EPP) seemed like the natural choice
